A missionary minister laid the town out in 1807 around a central public square in the New England style of the day, with avenues aimed at the eight points of the compass. Roads, one hub
The town surveyor drew diagonals from each corner so eight roads radiate every 45 degrees from the old public square.
The church
The Federal-style church, with its 100-foot steeple, was dedicated on September 8, 1825.
A square turns round
All eight roads once met in the square. The Circle was started in 1859, and its center became Circle Park.

The Summit County Fair fills the fairgrounds on North Avenue in Tallmadge every summer.

How much room does Rock N’ Roll Joust need?
About 30 ft by 30 ft with 10 ft of height, plus one electrical circuit. An operator comes with it.
Does the Cash Cube need someone to run it?
Yes. Plan on a volunteer to load the cube and keep the line moving. You choose what blows around inside: cash, tickets or prize vouchers.
Who can book the Run, Jump & Slide package?
It’s a school-only field day package with a 30 ft obstacle course, an inflatable slide and a giant bounce house.
Can you provide paperwork for a church or PTO?
Sure. Our liability certificate can be issued to your church, PTO, school district or rental hall. Just name who should be listed when you reserve.
When do Tallmadge weekends book up?
Late July around Summit County Fair week, graduation season and spring field days are the busiest. Reach out early, especially for the bigger attractions.
