Trail Map Legend: Your Questions

1

How far do you travel to Garfield Heights?

We load at our Norton warehouse, a little over 30 miles south. Book early for summer Saturdays, and we confirm a delivery window when you reserve.

2

How many guests fit under the 20 x 20 frame tent?

About 30 to 66, depending on how you set tables and chairs. Leave a 35 x 35 foot area, since the frame tent can go on grass or pavement.

3

Do you deliver the low-profile slip n slide?

Yes. It’s also a pickup special if you’d rather haul it yourself. It needs a 15 x 45 foot run, one circuit and city water, because well water can stain it.

4

Can the graduation yard sign say my grad’s name?

Yes. It comes with 2-foot letters, grad smiley faces and balloons, and we can spell out a name or a custom message on the lawn.

5

What is in the Game Craze Tailgate?

A 6 x 12 trailer with a satellite dish, an 85-inch TV, sound, a gas grill, a pop-up tent, tables, chairs, a cooler, lighted cornhole and giant stacking blocks. It’s built for about 50 guests and runs 8 hours.

6

Does the red sky dancer need power?

Yes, one circuit, plus a 10 x 20 foot patch with about 22 feet of clearance overhead.

I was very pleased with Game Craze. I used them for my daughters 9th birthday. She had a blast with all her friends. They should up on time. And we’re very nice to the children. I really enjoyed this experience. My daughter said this was the best birthday ever!

The Garfield Heights Route

  1. Stop 1: A park lends its name

The Encyclopedia of Cleveland History says the city took its name from Garfield Park. The park opened as Newburgh Park and was renamed in 1897 in memory of a U.S. president. He never lived here; he was born in Orange Township, on the other side of the county. The area split off from Newburgh as the village of South Newburgh in 1907, took the Garfield Heights name in 1919 and became a city in 1930.

  2. Stop 2: The long walk for the mail

Local history accounts describe South Newburgh around 1917 as a village of about 1,500 people with no police department, no sidewalks and no mail delivery. Neighbors reportedly took turns making the long trip to a post office in a neighboring town to collect everyone's letters. Today, the party supplies come to you.

  3. Stop 3: Stonework in the woods

Garfield Park Reservation still hides the bones of an older park. According to the encyclopedia's park history, early crews threaded the Wolf Creek ravine with paths and cobblestone bridges, dammed the creek into two lakes and built a trail to a natural iron spring. In the 1930s, stone footbridges, a colonnaded boathouse and retaining walls followed. Cleveland Metroparks notes that the old lake beds have since gone back to nature.
